Our local Educational Service Unit had a wonderful Art Cadre day last year and we had such a great time creating these mixed media pieces! I loved it - ALL DAY working on my own art!!
This was a rather fun project we do in drawing at school - using a collage method of adding paper and other materials. This was just one of my examples - never quite finished it but I did like it so I still have it.
Both of these works were completed during a workshop with Mr. Brommer. It was an honor to meet Mr. Brommer and exciting to try some new techniques through his instruction. Some of Mr. Brommer's work can be viewed at the link noted.
This handmade book became a very important part of my life in 2005. I wrote all of the calligraphic verses while undergoing chemo for lung cancer. These verses say it all.
These two fiber pieces were created shortly after the death of my mother to cancer. Both were my expression of dealing with that grief in different ways.
This piece is looking toward the future... This piece is taking it day to day-the different stages of grief.
As I said-I like too many kinds of art. These are just a few of the many examples of handmade books from handmade paper that I have made-mostly in school but some as gifts.
